Choosing a Colour Scheme
When designing a room, choose a colour for the walls that is neutral, as you don't want the colour to dominate the room. You can then add lots of colour splashes using accessories such as soft furnishings, lighting shades, artwork or even a feature wall with a bolder plain colour or patterned wallpaper.
This approach has the advantage of being easily modified as personal taste or fashion changes over time, without having to re-paint the entire room.
